Our goal is to simplify the entire funeral home experience and make this process as easy as possible. We hope to eliminate any unnecessary surprises by publishing our total cost and the services we provide directly on our website. Hopefully this simple gesture helps provide your family with a little piece of mind. We encourage family members to share their personal thoughts and suggestions to bring even greater meaning and significance to the service. We also offer grief counseling to provide emotional support and help families cope with their loss.
We added the Wynne Center in 2006 so that families could host large celebrations with our compassionate team at their side. Brown-Wynne Funeral Home and Crematory offers traditional religious services, visitations and catered receptions before or after funerals or cremations. The Wynne Center is the largest celebration of life facility in the Raleigh area. Equipped for all gatherings of all sizes, it can accommodate everything from a breakfast to a banquet meal to anything in between.

Cemetery memorialization gives your loved one a personalized final resting place and future generations a place to gather and reflect. It’s hard to imagine a time when Glenwood Avenue was just a sleepy Carolina road connecting Raleigh and Durham. But decades ago, local military hero and Raleigh mayor Jyles Coggins had the foresight to build a cemetery that would meet the needs of a growing community. For above-ground entombment, Raleigh Memorial Park has two garden mausoleums in addition to the Chapel Mausoleum.

Honor the memory of your loved one with cemetery flower placement. The Garden of Memory veterans section at Raleigh Memorial Park features a bronze monument dedicated to members of the U.S. armed forces, as well as flags representing each branch of the military. In 1954, Robert W. Wynne Jr. built a new funeral home on the corner of St. Mary’s and North streets, which is where we are today. He also had the foresight to expand to Cary in 1969 and Millbrook in 1973. And for those who wish for something more momentous, Neptune Memorial Reef is an underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida. A Celestis Memorial Spaceflight takes ashes into space for a little while or forever.

We value our reputation for providing the highest quality funeral services, with the personal attention and professionalism to help your family through this difficult time. We offer the same traditional funeral services as the big corporately owned funeral homes in the area; however, we cost about half the amount. You might consider a traditional funeral service if your family is looking for an open casket visitation, a traditional church service or a funeral service in the funeral home's chapel. A traditional funeral service can be altered to fit the needs of your family. City of Oaks Funeral Home and Cremation is a full-service funeral home offering direct cremation, immediate burial, and affordable traditional funeral services.
It accommodates up to 75 for a seated dinner or up to 200 for a standing reception. With catering and reception services, we take care of all the food and drinks, so you don't have to. City of Oaks Cremation, LLC limits our on-site memorial services, visitations, funeral services and/or religious services to a maximum of 44 individuals in attendance. The City of Raleigh believes our intimate chapel is simply not large enough to safely accommodate larger groups. For this reason, all services held onsite are required to be private as well as unadvertised.

Not everyone wants an open casket for viewing or a limousine for the family. Despite the term immediate, we can move as fast as you need or as slow as you like. This option simply allows you to save money by eliminating some of the fancy extras at the funeral home.
Serenity Gardens, one of the cemetery’s newer areas, has space for estates or columbaria, as well as cremation niches. Another recent addition, Christus Estates, offers cremation niches in an exquisite natural setting.
